Develop and direct the implementation of an enterprise-wide risk management strategy that includes all aspects of risk including operations, credit, market, liquidity and regulatory risks in order to safeguard ODB’s business and reputation while ensuring that risks are adequately captured from departments and communicated to executive management and the board (risk governance).



A. Leadership Accountability Area

1.      Strategy Development

Manage the development of departmental strategy as cascaded down from the functional strategy and oversee its implementation throughout the department and its operations, in order to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across ODB.

2.      People Management

Manage the departmental team of direct and indirect reports through effective recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning, in order to maximize team performance and achieve departmental objectives.

B. Managerial Accountability Area

3.      Operational Management

Manage the department’s daily operations by providing expertise, enabling teamwork, and aligning processes, in order to achieve high performance standards and meet established targets.

4.      Budget Management

Manage the development and consolidation of the departmental budget and monitor the department’s financial performance versus the budget, in order to ensure the exercising of financial authority within established limits and the control of departmental budget expenditure.

C. Operational Accountability Area

5.      Risk Governance

Manage the reporting of information stemming from the operations of the different department to the board and executive management in order to promote risk governance with ODB and ensure that all the bank’s reporting to external parties, including the central bank, stock exchanges etc is in alignment with banking regulatory policies.

6.      Risk Appetite

Develop a clear statement of the risk appetite and return for risk expectations for the bank in order to recommend it to the executive management and the CEO.

7.      Risk Culture

Create a risk aware culture through communication and training programs, risk based performance measurement and incentives, and other change management programs

8.      Risks

Credit Risk

Oversee the adoption and implementation of credit scoring methodologies in order to maintain adequate management of credit risk.

Lead reviews of the bank’s credit portfolio to determine its position vis-à-vis industry exposure concentration and monitor the bank’s credit risk exposure on an ongoing basis.

Operational Risk

Oversee the establishment of an operational risk management in order to ensure adequate addressing of operational risk within ODB. 

Market Risk

Oversee and control interest rate, currency and other market risks using risk rating calibrations, stress testing, value at risk etc.

Liquidity Risk

Assess IBQ’s investment portfolio for concentration/ diversification needs against the established risk appetite and liquidity ratio.

Regulatory Risk

Lead the interpretation of Basel II requirements in order to develop a compliant risk management framework and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

D. Procedural Accountability Area

9.      Policies & Procedures

Manage the development, implementation, and communication of departmental policies and procedures, in order to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are clearly communicated and duly fulfilled.

10.  Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.




-       Bachelor in Finance or any relevant with 20 years’ experience ,10 years in managerial experience


-          Master in Finance or any relevant with 15 years’ experience,7 years in managerial experience

o   RMP,CRCMP,FRM or any other  Professional certificate is  an added advantage
